A Little Tulle

Dress (worn as skirt) Zara, Chambray Top Aritzia (similar here), Heels Manolo Blahnik (on major sale!), Necklace c/o Spike the Punch, Purse Balenciaga

This dress is made of a really light tulle that's soft enough
to blow in the wind. I guess after years of dancing ballet,
I still go back to the fabric I wore so many times.
I felt very whimsical while wearing it and loved how it dressed
up my simple chambray top.

DIY Jewel-Button Cardigan

I'm a sucker for anything colorful, sparkly and unexpected.
This Sonia by Sonia Rykiel has all of those qualities so of course
I fell in love with it, but not the price.
Now, I have to let you guys know that I am not a very crafty person.
This is one of my first DIYs, but I figured it was pretty simple and inexpensive.

Here are the supplies you will need:

A grey sweater.
I got this one from H&M for less than $20.
E6000 Glue or some other strong stuff and some big
colorful jewels. Make sure you have enough to cover all of
the buttons on the sweater. Make each one a different color.
Directions:

Lay the sweater flat and line up where you want the jewels to go.
Put glue on the first button, add a jewel and
hold the jewel down for a couple seconds.
Repeat.
And there you have it!

Collar Added

Dress Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony, Sweater Aritzia, Necklace Forever21 and c/o Stella & Dot, Heels Givenchy (60% off!), Bag Balenciaga

I have been wanting a detachable collar for a while, but didn't want to
pay a lot since I wasn't sure if I would wear it much. I quickly jumped
on this one from Forever21 since the price was great...and boy, am I glad I did!
I have always been a big fan of collared tops and blouses, so now I can add one
to all my dresses, sweaters and shirts that don't have one!
I especially love the look of a T-shirt paired with a collar.
It's a great way to transition a simple tee.
I also really love these collars: one, two, three, four, five

Layers

Dress c/o Karen Kane, Sweater Brandy Melville, Wedges Seychelles (Similar pair here), Purse Stella McCartney, Sunglasses Ray Ban, Necklace c/o Stella & Dot

I'm finally adjusting to the weather in San Francisco (as bipolar as it is).
I can still wear my summer items as long as I have a jacket or
sweater to layer over them. Currently my favorite thing to do is layer knit sweaters
over dresses. It not only keeps me warmer, but it's a great way to dress down
some of my dressier dresses.

Traveling Basics

With my upcoming honeymoon to Italy, I have been slowly
trying to pick up basics that will be easy to travel with and layer.
A simple striped tank (or t-shirt) is always the first thing I go to.
I love stripes because they go with almost anything. They look cute
with jeans, you can dress them up with jewelry or wear them with a print!
A cross body bag, some flats, a watch, scarf, passport holder, sunnies and
a camera are all must-haves that you should not leave home without!

Pink Peplum

Dress Zara ( similar versions here, here & here), Heels Manolo Blahnik, Chain necklace c/o Poshlocket, Arrow necklace c/o Stella & Dot, Bracelet c/o Poshlocket, Purse Coach Classics

I got this dress a while ago at Zara and was instantly drawn
to the soft pink color. I normally wouldn't wear such a
tight fitting dress, but the peplum detail really flatters my body and makes
it more comfortable.

A Sneak Peek....

Yesterday Thomas and I headed to Solvang to meet up with
Ryan Ray (an incredible wedding photographer). We set up this shoot
for no reason in particular other than the fact that Ryan was in town, the location
was breathtaking and he is AMAZING!
I can't wait to see all of the pictures and show them with you guys.
I will definitely be framing some of these. You must check out
Ryan's website and see his work! You will fall in love.

P.S. Most of these photos were taken off of Ryan's assistant Erich's instagram.
He is another great photographer based out of Oregon and you can
check out his site here.

Wedding Hair: Up vs. Down

Images 1/2/3/4/5/6

I've been researching wedding hair for a while now.
I want an effortless and elegant look, but I am stuck between
wearing my hair up or down.
I love the look of long flowing hair and the youthfulness it gives, but wearing
my hair up makes me feel more sophisticated and timeless.
I still have some time to decide, but in the end I want to choose
whichever hairstyle I feel most comfortable and "me" in.

Peonies

Dress Anthropologie, Sweater Nordstrom, Heels Banana Republic, Bracelets c/o Poshlocket & BCBGeneration

Peonies are my favorite flower. (yes, they will be in my wedding!)
Every time I see them, I can't help but buy a few stems
to cheer up my bedside table. Nothing is better than waking up
to some fresh flowers in the morning.
Also, I seem to have a thing for stripes on the weekend!

Smitten

Dress Anthropologie, Jacket H&M, Heart Sunnies, Oxfords Zara, Purse Vintage Chanel (was my grandmothers)

So, by now you must have noticed my obsession with
anything Anthropologie. They are one of my go-to stores for girly dresses and
unique prints. This dress is by a designer named Charlotte Taylor , who is part of
Anthropologie's "Made In Kind" collection.
I am also really smitten with Leah Reena Goren's dresses as well.
I have a soft spot for shirtdresses and let's just say this one & this one have been
sitting in my cart online since I saw them!

Exploring

Shirt c/o StyleMint, Dress (worn as skirt) Free People, Purse Coach Classics, Sunnies Ray Ban, Shoes Converse, Lipstick Revlon "Really Red"

On Saturday, Thomas and I decided to explore San Francisco all on foot.
And spend $0 while doing so.
We packed up some snacks and water and headed out the door.
Total, we walked about 6 miles and pretty much covered a large portion of the city.
We had blast getting lost in different areas and acting as tourists in our new home.
We both wore our converse sneakers, which have been a huge life saver
on weekends when we walk everywhere. I already have a least five blisters
from trying to walk to work in heels :(

Sunday in the Park

Dress Maje, Wedges Prada, Purse Vintage Chanel, Necklace c/o Stella & Dot, Sunnies from a random Boutique in SF ($25!)

Today was the ideal Sunday.
Thomas and I started off our morning walking down to the ferry building
for breakfast and to get some groceries. The weather was amazing all weekend,
especially today. Since it was 75+ degrees, we decided to pack up a lunch, blanket and
some books on Italy and head to the park.
I was so nice to lay out in the sun with my best friend. We spent time drawing
pictures of each other and then laughing at how horrible they were. We had bubblegum
blowing contests. We planned some "must see" destinations for our trip to Italy.
And then we got gelato!
What did you do?!
