Summer Red

Top Forever 21, Skirt Nicole Miller, Heels Steve Madden, Necklace Bamboo Sky, Watch Michael Kors, Lipstick Revlon in Siren

Ever since I saw this dress on The Sartorialist, I have been wanting to wear red. I have always thought of it as more of a winter color, but my mind was completely changed when I saw that photo. Not having a dress in that shade of red, I went with an old sheer tank-top that was the perfect color. I got this Nicole Miller skirt at a designer consignment store in SF called Simply Chic. They have tons of beautiful designer things from Chanel bags to Burberry jackets for a fraction of the original price. I am in love with the mocha color of it and of course, it has pleats!
Because it is so hot, I have found that wearing sheer fabrics is the key to beating the heat. Silky, chiffon tops and skirts are what I have been finding myself wearing a lot.

Fall Heels

Here are four styles of heels that I am lusting over to buy for Fall. The heels on the left are my dream heels, but luckily I found affordable alternatives for all of them! I am seriously loving the loafer pump right now. I also found a great Pour La Victoire pair here. I have already started my wish list for fall shoes I want and it pretty much consists of all booties. I wish I could buy them all!!!

Simplicity

Dress Aritzia, Belt H&M, Heels Jessica Simpson, Necklace Bamboo Sky, Watch Michael Kors, Bag Chicos

I love this dress for 5 reasons:

1. The adorable capped sleeves

2. It’s pleated
3. The way it flairs out just the right amount
4. The dark grey color
5. It has pockets

I wore this dress for work today. I can picture it transitioning perfectly into fall with some tights, a blazer, and a sparkly necklace. A classic structured dress is always a good purchase because you will be able to wear it for a variety of occasions.

Favorite New Things

New Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony dress for an upcoming wedding

Perfect summer read: Victoria Beckham- That Extra Half an Inch

Name Necklace & Wire "LOVE" necklace c/o Bamboo Sky

Here are a few of my favorite new things.

I bought this Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony dress for an upcoming wedding. I cannot wait to wear it because it is so light and feminine. You should definitely check out their site here

I have been looking for a few new books to read before summer ends and I had heard really good things about Victoria Beckham's book "That Extra Half an Inch". SO I bought it today at Barnes & Nobles. Very excited to curl and tonight and start reading :)

I saw that Tiffany (the owner of Bamboo Sky) made these necklaces when I was in their store in Hawaii a few months ago. I called the store and ordered the gold plated one because they didn't sell it online. BUT you can purchase the wire necklace online here. You can have it say your name or whatever you want! I was thrilled when Tiffany sent me a wire name necklace (we changed it to say "love" that way I didn't have two "Julia" necklaces). I will be wearing these both non-stop.

Weekend Farmer's Market

Dress Blue Life, Name Necklace Bamboo Sky, Wedges Toms, Jacket Abercrombie & Fitch, Glasses Ray Ban

Thomas and I spent the majority of our weekend in San Francisco. If we are in the city on a Saturday morning we like to wake up really early and walk down to the farmer's market at the Ferry building. We stocked up on lots of fruits and veggies because we just got a juicer and want to make tons of juices!

I got this dress at Planet Blue (which can be purchased here) when I was down in LA. It's the perfect maxi dress for summer because it can easily transition from day-time to night-time, which is so nice especially when you are traveling and like to pack light. This jacket is literally over six years old and is my sister's from high school! (She is graduated from college now, that is how old it is) Anyways, I have been really bored with my hair lately and I have been putting it in all sorts of different braids.

P.S. These strawberries were deeee-licious! And are now completely gone.

P.P.S. Today I was in Marin and had lunch with Karen Behnke, the founder of the ALL organic skin care line Juice Beauty. She is one amazing lady! Not only was I so inspired by her (she has started two very very successful businesses), but I learned so much about skin care and makeup products. I am definitely going to be converting over to this toxin-free line and I will let you all know more about it very soon!

I See Stars

Blazer and Top Zara, Jeans Joe's Jeans, Belt UO, Heels Banana Republic, Bow Ring Madewell, Bag Chanel, Name Necklace Bamboo Sky

Happy Friday Everyone!
Thomas and I decided last minute to go to San Francisco and hang out for the weekend. We walked around some shops for a bit and went to Whole Foods to pick up something for dinner. We snapped these photos right outside his apartment. I am sooo in love with the blazer from Zara. I think that stars add a little fun to a basic black blazer. Always loving a pop of color, I added this magenta pink top. I recently got this name necklace from Bamboo Sky. I have wanted one for so long and I just adore it! They also sent me a gold wire "love" necklace that I will show you all soon (and you can purchase it online!).
P.S How cute is this bow ring I just picked up from Madewell?!

Add a little Leopard

Romper Forever21, Belt UO, Earrings Bamboo Sky

I love this little romper I found at Forever 21. I actually wore it on St. Patty's day with a green belt. I love the one sided shoulder and ruffle detail. The white flower pattern is also very subtle against the black. I have MAC lipstick in Amplified on, but I toned the pink down by putting a little bit of concealer over it to create a softer pink.

In the Details

If you really want to personalize a look, there is no better way than accessorizing. Simple things like a scarf, a necklace, or a belt can transform an outfit into many styles depending on what you pick. I added a few details to my outfit today that include: a vintage scarf (worn in my hair), a vintage bracelet worn with my Michael Kors watch, Essie nail polish in "Need a Vacation", and Bobbi Brown blush in peony. I picked up the scarf and bracelet at the Rose Bowl flea market this past Sunday. What a great place to find such unique items. I wish I could go every month! I also recently got this Bobbi Brown blush and it has been my favorite for a fresh summery look. Even if I am not wearing any makeup, I love to put a little on my cheeks and lips to add some life to my face. And yes, I did say "to my lips". I add it with a little bit of chapstick and the color turns out like in the first picture.

Chiffon Feathers

Skirt worn as Dress Free People, Heels Banana Republic, Belt Urban Outfitters, Watch Michael Kors, Bag Kelli

Hi All! I wore this outfit when I went out to dinner in Santa Monica last weekend. This dress is actually a skirt that I bought from Free People in the very beginning of Spring. All I needed was a slip and a belt and..voilĂ , it's a dress! I love the fact that the pattern on it is feathers, but they are so soft and flow with the chiffon fabric of the dress. I wore my Banana Republic heels with this outfit because they go with everything! I just love them and they are soooo comfy. I walked all the way from the wharf to my boyfriend's apartment in SF (which was like an hour long walk) in them and I was fine! He kept asking me "How I was doing" and when I said "Great!", I really meant it. Plus I usually complain and I wasn't complaining...so that was proof.

Simple Look

Top H&M, Shorts Citizen for Humanity, Sunglasses BCBG, Bag Kate Spade, Heels Banana Republic, Bracelet gift from my sister

It's only Monday evening and I am already exhausted. How did that happen? Although I love to dress up and wear skirts ( I wear a lot of skirts), I still love a laid back look. Jean shorts, a white top and neutral heels is a simple easy-to-pull-together look that comes out casual and chic. I originally saw these Banana Republic heels in Stanford when I was shopping with my mom. I tried them on in black and really liked them. I didn't get them, but when I got home I was still thinking about them so I looked them up online and discovered they had them in this "clay" color. And now they are mine :)

High-Waisted Shorts

Top Ella Moss, Shorts Nasty Gal, Sandals Dolce Vita, Sunglasses Ray Ban, Purse Chanel

Weekends always fly by way too fast. I had a blast down in Santa Monica. It was fun to explore new restaurants, stores and towns that I had never been to before. I am so exhausted and have to be up early for work in the morning so this post is going to be short and sweet. I went for a hippie-ish look when my boyfriend and I went to Newport Beach and spent the day walking around shops and going to the beach. These high-waisted suede shorts are so fun and I got this Ella Moss top on clearance last summer.
