Skirt & Coat c/o Karen Kane, Blouse Tobi, Pumps & Clutch Zara
I bought a couple of these blouses from Tobi not only because they were really inexpensive, but they are so versatile and can add color to almost anything. I thought that I would bring out the gorgeous yellow in this skirt and really make it stand out. I'm drawn to anything neon yellow right now (Old Navy has some great stuff!) and I like it against my dark hair. I felt so ladylike in this outfit, which I love because I would describe myself as pretty girly. (I think I'm somewhat like Jess from New Girl)
I want to thank all of you SO much for all of the support/help you gave me on my new hair color. I cancelled my appointment to get the color stripped off after many of you told me that it would severely damage my hair. The dark is slowly growing on me and I can see that it's already slightly fading. I took some of your helpful tips and went and got some of the products you guys recommended!

I LOVE the darker hair! I especially like darker hair on people with lighter eyes! It will probably feel a little less harsh whenever you get a little bit of a tan this spring!

I love, love, love your hair!! I'm so happy you decided to keep it dark! Whenever I dye my hair, I'm a little nervous the next day... but after I give it a few days to fade, it always turns out looking much better than I expected.
Do you know how you're going to do your hair for your wedding??

I think your hair looks so gorgeous! but just tweeted you some ways i just lightened mine - prell shampoo works and leaves hair really shiny (it's only $2.99) also any anti-dandruff shampoo will strip color. their is a l'oreal product that you can get at sally's (it's in a yellow box) if you mix 1 part solution with 2 parts shampoo it will subtly lighten your hair.

hey julia! i've been reading about your hair issues and i feel ya. i one time got low lights and it turned out to be really dark brown (i am a honey coloured blonde), and it just didn't suit me. but, turns out, it faded over a week or so and it was really a great color. i eventually went up a few shades, but sometimes it's good to experiment with different colors/shades. maybe in a few weeks if you change your mind you can go back to your old color! i think it looks great regardless. good luck! and ps love your top.

Gorgeous, girl. I LOVE your hair! And I agree, getting it stripped will damage it like you wouldn't believe. I had hair about the same length as yours and I colored it dark and HATED it. I kept dying it and dying it back light, finally it was so damaged I had to cut it off :(
now I'm trying to grow it back! Your color will fade, but i like it! :)

The dark and light hair color looks great on you! You look great, and I like that you wrote I'm a Girly Girl. It seems people give Girly Girl a bad name these days. Girly Girl doesn't necessarily mean high maintenance..To me, it just means you enjoy looking nice! When you look good, you feel good!
Glad to hear you're liking the darker hue! I think it's absolutely stunning and colours always fade so quickly anyway, all you have to do is find a deep cleaning shampoo and then you can almost adjust it to exactly the shade you want. This is a stunning look too - the floral and neon yellow combo is perfection!

First of all, I think the color looks great on you. I am a hairstylist in SF and totally understand wanting to go back to blonde for your wedding. I always tell my clients to look like themselves on their wedding day because you will be looking and these pictures forever. As far as going lighter goes, give yourself about a month for your hair to fade out, then you can start the highlighting process. It should take 2-3 highlights to look like your normal color. Go every 4-6 weeks. I always tell my clients who are drastically lightening to use bedhead resurrect shampoo and conditioner and redken cat protein packs. Your hair will feel like new! Good luck!
I am so in love with your new hair color. My hair color is very similar to yours and have always envied your hair, but recently have been considering going a little darker (closer to my natural) just for time and money ease. I was terrified, but seeing how great yours looks on your skin tone makes me want to consider it again!

I really like your hair darker and I think you should think on it more at the very least! Why not wait just a couple weeks and revisit how you feel about it.
I loved your ombre hair and think you're gorgeous as a blonde but I also think the dark warms up your face a bit! Truly stunning.
But hey, maybe I'm biased as a brunette (more like redhead) myself.

Julia! I LOVE your hair dark! I know its a dramatic change but you definitely pull it off well! I went from being blonde to dark brown last winter and i loved it but hated keeping up with it so i'm back to blonde again. It was a nice change though.
