When I can't decide what to wear, I always reach for a blouse.

It's casual, yet dressy with the right accessories. Perfect for an evening

dinner without looking too overdone. 

This color is one of my favorite's right now. I just can't get enough of it!

Ever since I bought this blazer, I have been wanting to add more leather

detailed pieces to my wardrobe. Since my style is very feminine, it's nice to have 

a few items that add a bit of edge and contrast. This sweater has all of the right elements;

it's cozy, loose fitting, plaid and has leather sleeves that make it unique. 

I've already thrown it on with jeans and flats and it easily transitions into an evening 

outfit with a leather skirt and tights.

A New Go-To

Top Forever 21, Jeans Gap, Hat Gap, Flats Vintage (from this Etsy site), Watch Michael Kors

Thomas was swamped with homework this weekend and I wanted to 

dig into the book I have been putting off, so we decided to get both done while

enjoying the beautiful weather and laying in the park. I picked up this hat from 

Gap recently (it reminded me of this Rag & Bone one) and I'm so glad I did!

I know it will be my new go-to for bad hair days or to keep warm once it gets cold.

A Change of Weather

I wore this outfit to brunch last weekend. We had been enjoying fleet week and the

 beautiful weather, so I decided to pull back out a few of my summer things.

Unfortunately the weather now is cold, stormy and gray but I'm actually looking 

forward to a weekend bundled up. We are going to get a few new candles and a

couple of Fall decorations to make our place feel festive.

We are currently planning a trip to a haunted corn maze/mansion. Any suggestions

of places to go around the SF/Bay Area are welcomed! The scarier the better :)

3 Ways To Wear A Bow

1. Tied around your head. Pair with a t-shirt and jeans for a touch of

girly-ness.

2. Tied around a low ponytail. Simple way to spruce up the everyday 

ponytail.

This is a simple and inexpensive way to change up your everyday
hairstyle. I bought a spool of black satin ribbon and plan on using
it not only in my hair, but in my wardrobe as well. More to come on that!

Gold Details

I've always favored gold over silver. I'm not exactly sure why, but I love the
way it stands out. For someone with very feminine style it adds a nice
edge. I decided to play up the chain details on this Chanel-esque blazer
with some more subtle gold accents.
I wore this outfit last Friday and after work Thomas and I walked to
Fort Mason, where they have Off The Grid on Friday nights. They have
around 30 food trucks varying in ranges of cuisine. We went with Thai for dinner
and kettle corn for dessert. It was a fun evening with live music and beautiful weather.
 If your in the area on a Friday night, you should check  it out!

H&M and saw it was only $29 I knew it had to come home with me. 

 I love animal prints because they pair so easily with other things. 

Didn't someone once say that "leopard is a neutral?"

Oh Madewell, you got me again..

I don't know what it is about Madewell, but every time

I visit their site I get this urge to fill my closet with plaid shirts, boy-ish 

loafers and boots, and printed tees. 

I think it's that their clothes are so practical and perfect for everyday.

The top of my wish list? this metallic skirt, this plaid coat, these glitter

oxfords and this bow sweater.

Sweater Weather

Last week, when it was sweater weather, I welcomed
fall in with open arms and a new cozy knit from Gap.
The cool weather didn't stay for long (it has since warmed up drastically)
but I know it will be back soon. How did I not have a cream sweater before?
I would love to pair it with maxi skirts, pencil skirts and a pair of
cream trousers. Oh the possibilities are endless..

Lady Like

I bought this skirt at TopShop because it reminded me of this Elizabeth and
James skirt (now on sale) that I wanted really bad, but was out of my price range.
I love the fullness of the skirt and how lady like I feel when I put it on.
I felt it only necessary to add some pink and tiny gold bows
(on my belt and on my heels) for that extra girly charm.

How-To: Top Knot

Step 1: Part hair down the middle and gather at base of neck

Step 2: Pull hair into a high ponytail, leaving the part

Step 3: Hold base of ponytail with one hand a twist the ponytail with

the other hand

Step 4: Once the ponytail is twisted, start to wrap around into a bun

Step 5. Secure with a hair tie

Step 6. Pull a few loose hairs down for a laid-back look

I wear my hair like this multiple times throughout the week when I'm
too lazy to do anything else. It's quick, simple and easy and can be
worn up high or at the base of the neck as well.
