Hair Details & More Brights In Winter

Blazer J. Crew, Dress Tobi, Oxfords Zara, Aviators Ray Ban, Necklace LYLIF

The weather has been unusually warm this week, it even reached 70 degrees today! I thought it was the perfect time to bring out a new bright colored dress for Spring and keep it somewhat winter appropriate with a navy blazer. As most of you known by now, I love color and this bright orange dress grabbed my attention instantly.
On another note, let's talk about my hair :) I told you guys a little over a week ago that I was getting my hair done and that I hadn't decided what I wanted to do. When I went to the salon, I decided to go lighter and take the blonde that was on the ends of my ombre and bring them up. To put it lightly, I was not pleased with the results. It just didn't look like me. So THEN, I went back to the salon and told them that I wanted to go darker. Not too dark. I was thinking Olivia Palermo brown. (she's pinned all over my pinterest boards) What I have now is the results of that. And again, I'm not pleased. The blonde ends did not want to take color as well as my roots, so now I have a two-toned color that is somewhat red/brown and grey/blonde on the ends. It's been frustrating because I feel as if I'm complaining a lot and being too picky. But it's my hair! Hair can be a very sensitive thing...at least for me. I have always been very conscientious of taking good care of my hair and try to keep it healthy. I now am getting my hair done for the third time on Sunday (along with a deep conditioning treatment so my hair won't get too mad at me) and I'm really nervous. I'm hoping that the results look something like this
So wish me luck! & Have a fabulous weekend.

Winter is fast approaching! Perhaps its time to start thinking about buying some knitwear to keep warm (like this one!)

That dress is amazing, and I never would've thought to pair it with a navy blazer. Who knew navy and orange were meant for each other?!

Best of luck with your hair, and don't feel like you're being picky... hair can be a big deal, and I've had my fair share of bad cuts/dye jobs to know :)

Love the outfit! That orange dress is awesome! I am a hair stylist and have tackled this issue time and time again - they need to "fill" your ends, which means it'll be a two step process. First they need to add warmth back in and then color over it with the desired color. Maybe since they already put a color all over, doing a single all over color will work fine ... but if it was me, I would put a demi permanent, really warm tone on those blonde areas that took ashy/muddy and then color over the entire thing with the desired end result.

hope it all works out!

Love this dress! Might have to buy it for summer!

I know exactly how you feel about your hair. The ombre is hard to get rid of, and it will take a few visits. The darker color you posted looks good, but I know what you mean. And color fades fast so after a few weeks the ombre ends will show through more. You almost have to go a little darker than you want because it will fade fast. Hope it turns out good this time!

I am a new follower of your blog and I absolutely LOVE it. You are drop dead gorgeous. I also have been following your twitter and I recently went from very blonde hair to dark hair and love it! I miss my blonde sometimes, but I think you will be happy with how it showcases your eyes and your wardrobe (hair color can make clothes look so different!) I saw the original picture you posted with your newly brown hair and I absolutely loved it. I didn't think it looked bad at all! :) Good luck on Sunday, though!

The orange dress is so fun! Love the color. So sorry about your hair fiasco. It's your hair so be picky until you're happy! :)

Emily said...

I love this look! I am sympathizing with you over the hair. I went to the salon back in November to have my blonde brought up higher to make a more obvious ombre of my natural summer color that was growing out. The stylist who came recommended to me made me look like Cruella Deville! It was absolutely ridiculous and instead of using a balayage technique I had a very distinct line of blonde to brown in my hair. When I went back to have it fixed, the brown she mixed in over some of the blonde ended up fading out about two weeks later. Needless to say, I won't be going back. I hope you get your hair woes solved soon! You're definitely rocking that ponytail though! :)
